Make-up voor film draait om het tot leven brengen van een personage en het ondersteunen van het verhaal, de emotie, de artistieke richting en de geloofwaardigheid van het beeld.
Van scenarioanalyse tot continuïteit kijk ik naar de periode, stijl, verwondingen, hun evolutie en de noden van het personage, zodat de make-up coherent blijft van scène tot scène.
Op de set hecht ik veel belang aan hygiëne, flexibiliteit, continuïteit en het comfort van de acteurs. Het moment in make-up blijft een moment voor hen, om zich te concentreren, te herhalen of even los te koppelen.
Mijn doel is geloofwaardige make-up te creëren die aansluit bij de visie van de regisseur en het art department, of het nu gaat om beauty, character work of specifieke effecten.

For me, film makeup is about giving life to a character and supporting everything that exists around them: the story, the emotion, the visual direction, and the technical details that make the final image believable.
I love being part of the process behind what the audience will only see for a few minutes on screen: reading the script, analysing the period, style, injuries, emotions, and character evolution, then preparing continuity documents to make sure every detail stays coherent from one scene to another.
On set, I pay close attention to continuity, hygiene, adaptability, and the comfort of the actors. I believe the makeup chair should feel like a calm and caring moment before they step into character.
My goal is to create makeup that feels credible within the script and aligned with the director’s and art department’s vision, whether it is natural camera-ready skin, character work, beauty, injuries, fatigue, dirt, or SFX.
